Carole Beck was baptized by Pastor Jones at Bethany in 1959 and has been a member ever since! She grew up in Escanaba and has also lived in Jackson, Battle Creek, Negaunee, and Paradise, MI. Carole attended Northern Michigan University, majoring in Mathematics/Statistics, and later went back to school at Kellogg Community College and NMU to get her teaching certificate in Elementary Education. With this, she taught elementary students at Whitefish Township School for 24 years before retiring. She continues to be involved at Whitefish as their Test Coordinator. Outside of the education field, she previously worked at an engineering firm as a quality specialist and for a restaurant chain in the marketing department as a sales and promotion analyst. She also spent three summers on the staff at Fortune Lake Camp.
Carole previously served on Bethany’s Church Council and has been working as Bethany’s Financial Secretary since 2020, maintaining Bethany’s financial database. Her favorite things about Bethany are visiting with the people and helping out, and she loves that this position allows her to get things organized and create some great spreadsheets!
Currently, Carole lives in Escanaba with her sister, Sara. Her hobbies include anything crafty, such as knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching. She also enjoys reading and gardening.
